“I'm assuming the base allows charging of the phone/dialpad. Can it sit in the base and charge while being on the phone?”

• The base is used for charging only. If you keep the phone in the base your unable to use it to make calls. It will ring in the base but you must take it out in order to answer the call or to make calls. I've used this model for a few years now, it works good but does have to charge after being out of the base about 10hrs or less.
