It comes with a code for Dolby Atmos for 1 machine, Xbox One or a Windows PC. You can purchase Dolby Atmos for 15 bucks that covers up to 10 PCs or Xboxs. So yeah it is surround sound when atmos is enabled. Sounds better than 5.1 or 7.1 by far.

Dolby Atmos is in its base form a Dolby True HD 7.1 audio track. On top of this, it has additional information stored which makes it possible to not only have this audio be placed on the circle around you, but also be positioned ABOVE this circle.

Please try again later.You receive a Dolby Atmos code free for the app which is a nice touch, the last thing you want is to spend extra money to get the best out of your headphones. Some might say its a gimmick but once you have the Atmos app installed and setup they really do make a difference. The sound stage becomes larger, the details are clearer, it's a more immerse experience.
