They are 2 seperate features. If you play 4k games a few feet from the screen, you'll get the benefit of 4k, but beyond that the human eye can't differentiate. HDR will benefit regardless of distance, as it adds more gradient to colors, and brighter lighting highlights (think sunlight coming through a window into a dark room). How much you benefit will also be dependent on the brightness level of the screen, and of course both the game and the screen have to support HDR. A 10-bit screen (req for HDR 10 std; Dolby Vision req. 12 bit) can have more detail in the bright areas of the image, and/or more details in the dark parts of the image. It can also have a greater range between the brightest and darkest parts of the image, reducing the "banding" you can see when the image goes from dark to light. This is because standard 8 bit TV will display a bit over 16 million colors and the human eye is capable of seeing much more. A 10 bit display by comparison can display over a billion different shades of color.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.PS4 Pro will offer substantial improvements over the ps4. it is a sound investment for a 4k television. HDR is nice but not a deal breaker on your tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will get all of the benefits except HDR. Games will still look a little clearer with higher resolution, have a little more detail, and better frame rates.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It gonna be a lot better than a regular HD TV but the benefit of HDR when set up right using media made for HDR and new HDMI cables is amazing and so much better than a plain 4k. That's the main reason it's never a good idea to buy new tech to soon befor standards are set in place and also why its bad buying a cheaper model when new tech comes out because new tech basicly should be quit expensive so when buying a cheaper one you gotta figure it's gona be missing features and probley be a lot cheaper in a year or 2 with even better tech in it. AS if now I think HDR is such a big deal if I had ne Tv's without it id sell them soon as possible to get back the biggest return I could on them and invest into a HDR model from a bigger company that your sure will have new updates for a while to come. To make a very simple answer HDR is great and for games even better so go for it make sure you get a set with HDR from now on its very much worth the money and the picture will blow you away on a top of the line set.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.HDR and 4K resolution are two different things. You can have 4K resolution without HDR. HDR is called "High Dynamic Range" which has to do with the colors projected on the screen, where as 4K resolution has to do with the number of shown pixels on screen. The PS4 Pro will have upscaled 4K gaming, which is not true 4K gaming. You will be able to use this upscaled 4K gaming, but you will not be able to use any HDR features.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you'll be able to take full advantage of the systems capacities except for the HDR.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Exactly I would argue the HDR function will make a bigger difference early on then 4k
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To catfisher 420 hdr stands for high dynamic range and if u have a uhd 4k tv u might not necessarily have the hdr feature which is hdr 10 so yes a 4k tv without hdr will not see all the benefits from the ps4 pro but all 4k tvs upscale all content to 4k anyway maybe u should stop buying electronics catfish fillet ,Ted had a good question
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be fine resolution will still upscale it for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.HDR is fine if you want your game to have massive input lag. Maybe good for movies or offline gaming.
