If you don't own 1 yet they stopped making the original it's just the slim model now so once all the original ones are gone off the shelf they will be gone for good. As far as future proofing goes it would be crazy not to get the PRO, you will be kicking yourself later for not getting it and taking a regular 1 if you do. Go for the PRO 100%

It's just $100 more, and it literally has a 2x larger GPU (maybe actually more...it has 2x the GPU cores, but it sounds like the GPU is actually a newer revision too). Plus the GPU, CPU, and RAM are all faster. The PS4's a good deal at $300, but $100 more for over 2x the performance is awesome.

Please try again later.I would get the normal ps4 because sony will release something to compete with the xbox scorpio (which is set to release next christmas season) and that will be worth getting. The pro's hardware update is nice but not necessary. Unless you have a 4k TV it's not viable in my opinion. Though the pro and xbox one s both don't do native 4k. They upscale to 1440p.
