• No, it will work without paying for the PSN. The only thing that will not work, will be most online games, where you play with others using the PSN and the internet. However, Warframe, is a free game that you can play online without a subscription to the PSN. There may be more, but that is the only one that I know of.

• You only pay for PS Plus which allows you to play multiplayer modes in games. PS Plus also has FREE monthly games that you can PERMANENTLY add to your library on PSN.
