• Yes, PS4 pro is only a pro due to its capability to stream in 4K. But 4K only works really well on 4K TV with 4K games. But the PS4 pro does not play 4K movies, but does stream Netflix in 4K.

• Yes, the only difference is the hardware. I just recently purchased the Pro, and I have the standard PS4. My games work on both systems, and I can play games with all the same friends.
