• Depending on the type of virus, it is definately possible that it could be transferred to a USB flash drive and infect other PCs.

• Viruses are transferred via files and therefore, yes a usb drive can transport viruses from computer to computer. The best recommendation to prevent viruses being transferred by a usb drive is to scan it immediately after inserting into a computer with a virus scan program.
