NO... The USB ports are primarily disabled on pretty much all DVR boxes, (to avoid downloading shows and movies that are being recorded.) the only reason theyre even on the box is because other cable companies allow users access to that USB port only for firmware updates and changing settings to the box itself. It wont work like it would on you Blu-Ray player allowing you to watch movies that are installed on yout thumbdrive or external hard drive. Hope this helps
