You have to Erase the disc and re-format it. Go to Disk Utilities and format the USB to the desired file type.

Please try again later.When a flash drive is write protected using a dedicated software or through making changes through registry, such a drive can't be used to add or delete files by an end user. One can only read the files without any modfications. Mostly commercial business promoting flash drives works like this to prevent a client from accidentally deleting those files. If you haven't formatted by yourself, need userid and password to revert write protection. If formatting option is available it can be formatted as a fresh drive, but all the existing files will lost. Hope this helps.
