• ok, you asked how many photos......... here is what you do, go to your photo directory, click on it then select properties, it will tell you how many gigabytes the whole folder is. then determine if this will work for you.

• I down loaded over 8000 pictures plus some home videos with no problems at all

• It will depend upon the size of your photos/files, but I just backed up about 7000 standard photos and it only used about 15GB.
