Yes it will CLONE it exactly. All hidden partitions and boot sectors will be cloned. The hard disk size needs to be close in size though. A 480 gig ssd will CLONE fine from a 500 gig drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Switched out my laptop's hdd to this ssd. The cloning software makes the new drive a bootable drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, if you clone the drive using the included Acronis software it will be bootable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it will tell you that it will not make it bootable in some instances, but I found that to be false. After i migrate, the drives has always booted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The migration software lets you take an image of the entire drive, everything on it including the OS, programs and all data, just like a Polaroid photo snapshot . Plus it will expand to match the new drive size if it is larger than the original drive! Good stuff!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It makes it bootable. I've used it twice and works quite well. Migrated, swapped, and booted without any problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can clone the drive. If the drive you are cloning is bootable, so will the new drive when the cloning process is completed with the included software. A reboot before the cloning process begins is necessary. FYI
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It makes it a bootable drive as long as you select that option. It's Acronic Trueimage (not a knockoff) so it's legit. You do only get a code on the piece of paper (the "manual") they provide you, not a CD, so you have to download the program online and activate it with the code. Also, it's easier to clone the drive with a desktop, especially if you can just stick the new drive in the desktop as opposed to using an external cable with say a laptop drive, although it's possible to clone a drive to this SSD using an external SATA to USB cable. If you're going to go that route, you may need an an external SATA power adapter too, although I'm not sure because I've only done it with 2 drives inside a desktop tower.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I never use migration software so i can't say. I prefer to install everything from scratch to ensure everything works as it should. Migration can come with time consuming issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This depends entirely on the software you are using. Many clone programs claim to make an exact copy but do not product a bootable target drive. The only product I have found that makes a true clone is Acronis True Image. No other program I have used (and there have been many,) have made a perfect copy of the original. "Migration," softare is used to transfer user data from one working system to another. Not make a clone drive. You need to make a drive image copy.
