Most laptops use and continue using the SATA port for hard disk connections, the only thing you have to pay attention to, is the storage capacity you need to.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would replace the current drive with a similar sized SSD (Solid State Drive). Best Buy has great prices (and a price match with major competitors). If you are not sure about doing the install, Geek Squad can do that for you and (maybe?) transfer your data from the current drive. At the very least, they could do a "clean, full install" of your Windows operating system so you can use the laptop again.
