• Yes it is. However, because of how macOS 10.7 and earlier handle TRIM, you’ll need to Google how to enable that feature so your SSD doesn’t fail prematurely.

• Hey, Yes it will fit. The only thing is you will have to either clone the operating system from the old hard drive or install a new one. here is a picture of the laptop i assume you have so we can be on the same page.
