It is very fast. I would go for the fastest one you can afford. In gaming especially it is speed, write and read is critical.

If you're using a laptop, get a USB Hard Drive Dock and a 3 or 4 TB standard HDD to store your games on. Again, that is the configuration I use on my gaming Laptop. MB (Megabyte) and GB (Gigabyte), Mb (Megabit) and Gb (Gigabit) (A Gigabyte is 1024 Megabits, the numbers before each of these designations is the speed, or transfer rate, of the device.
