• Yes it's backward compatible which means it can work with usb 2 system. I use it on usb 3 and on usb 2 systems to transfer files . works great !

• If your computer can read 3.0 it will read 2.0.

• Yes it does. It is backwards compatible. It just slows down to USB 2.0 speeds. You will not get 3.0 speeds.

• Usb 3.0 devices are backward compatible. Meaning usb 3.0 devices will work in a usb 2.0 port switching to that mode automatically. The data transfer speed will be at usb 2.0 speeds. Hope thus helps
