What capacity does your computer system show your drive as having? If less than the indicated capacity, you may want to use a program named SD Card Formatter, which is free. And yes despite the name, it works on flash drives. I have this program in my personal arsenal of computer repair programs and have used it on many occasions. I have saved many flash drives that otherwise might have ended up being thrown away. The web site has a tutorial for the uninitiated so feel confident to use it. I hope this helps.
