All PCI-E cards are backwards compatible. Your card just won't run optimally because of the lack of a 2.0 port. It will run at x16 speeds.

Please try again later.I ran this card on a older motherboard it ran great I had a old ns6is am2se motherboard with a older amd 4600+ 2.4 ghz and 4gb ddr2 ram it in some ways improved how things functioned a bit loved it as a temporary go to replacement for my gtx 480 which was also running on that mb
