“why do the lights turn from white to red? is there a problem with the card or is this normal?”

It turns red when the card is under heavy load. Like when you’re playing a game on high settings it puts the card to work. The white light is indicating it’s at idle. Don’t worry about the red light being an issue. It’s not going to hurt the card.

Please try again later.In my case it meant i was reaching the high side of the temps, and thermal shutdown was almost reached(happened even with fans running 100%) this would happen at ultra settings( this card should handle easily) on world war z. I have another single fan 1060 that is not oc by default( but oc in afterburner) running higher fps at ultra settings and in furmark
