No this RAM only works with desktops. Make sure that the title of the product says Laptop and not Desktop. Some PC's also have a maximum required Mhz for RAM. Make sure the new laptop RAM meets the requirements. You can check your laptop's RAM speed in task manager.

This item is random access memory (RAM) and is too big a format for a laptop even if RAM is what you're looking for Laptops are harder to upgrade than a desktop for the most part. Some laptops have a free slot available to add storage or RAM but depends on the mfr and model. Also note there are different generations and speeds of RAM and the generations are not cross compatible. The short answer is that RAM might not be the type of memory he's asking for, but wouldn't fit even if he was looking for more RAM. Suggest you bring the laptop to Best Buy Geek Squad or another computer center so they can sort you out
