I have a Samsung Q60 and ARC worked when I originally hooked it up and then went away and was replaced with the optical connection. HDMI does not even show up in the sound options on the TV. If I pull the power plug on both the S2 and the Q60, and then plug back in, sometimes it hooks back up as HDMI ARC. I currently have both HDMI ARC and the optical hooked up and it works through the optical connection most reliably. Since I like the Polk sound, I haven't returned and tried another brand soundbar so I don't know if this is a Samsung or a Polk issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought a Samsung Q80T, 50 inch, tv recently. Using the HDMI cable I simply plugged the cable into input 3 (eARC) and followed the instruction on the screen, while I followed along with the instructions that came in the box... those things that most people throw away with the box. Now with that said, I did go into my sound settings on the Q80T and went into the expert settings. Since the Polk S2 in not eARC and only ARC, I turned off the HDMI-eARC Mode on the Q80T. Then I made the Digital Output PCM. Both of those modes in you Q80T are selectable in your Sound Settings > Expert Settings. And wah lah... the sound magically came through the sound bar and woofer. I never have to turn my sound bar on or off, the tv being turned on does that for me, so I leave the sound bar on at all times and it sleeps with the tv is not on. The only thing i notice is the sound will initially come out of the tv for the first few seconds after the tv is powered on, then all of a sudden the sound bar wakes up, this can be about 5 seconds or so. I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same issue except my S2 connects via hdmi arc3 to a Samsung 7 TV. I use it simply for my fitness center and it will work for days then drop off. Having to unplug both and reset is beyond annoying and a time suck. I keep thinking it’s Poll but after resetting the S2 with no success I unplugged only the TV and hdmi reconnected. Appreciate and feedback if you found any remedy’s
