“I have an older (6 years) Westinghouse TV. It's fine, nothing fancy. It doesn't have an optical output or an Arc HDMI. It has several basic HDMI ports. I tried hooking this up to the TV last night and got no sound via HDMI. Am I missing something?”

If your TV does not have HDMI input "ARC" or optical output, it will not work because the TV has no other way to recognize the soundbar ,, I think the problem is the TV
