Yes, a bummer the remote does not light up! To turn on, the remote must be directly pointed at center of sound bar. It will briefly display 4 white lights and single blue light. The solid blue light confirms your Bluetooth connection. The sound bar will shut off after duration of inactivity. I’m not sure if there’s a setting to change feature. For me, I don’t mind the auto shutoff feature. Hope this helps..
