“So our sound bar keeps going in and out like the background sound in shows and movies goes in and out but voice sound still works. Has anyone had this happen and how to fix it?”

ALL sound is solid from both my Optical connection with my TV and the Bluetooth connection with my computer. I think Bluetooth is most subject to outside interference, so, if that's how you're experiencing problems, I'd try Optical, HDMI, USB (my order of preference). If that doesn't work, you might have a bad unit.
