• They work well. I have an Onkyo receiver. Set the bass @ + 4-6 and treble @ 6-8 from the receiver, crossover @100 hz or lower.

• It works well with any receiver. The question is, what kind of sound are you looking for in a speaker. This works best for small to medium sized rooms. Sound is clear, but not as clear as the high-end speakers.
