“I have a Bang and Olufsen Beogram RX2 record player. The output are phono type components (see pic). I think they're also called RCA. Can I plug these connections directly into the speakers? Or will I need an amp?”

You'll need an amp or some other type if receiver. They take speaker wire with screw downs. I use them with a surround sound system.

You need a pre-amplifier to make it sound right before connecting to an amplifier (depending on the amplifier you will be using). However, you do not need to use an amplifier If you connect directly to Powered Active Speakers (they have their own amplifier). Personally, I connected my RX2 to an old beomaster 2400 (has pre-amp integrated) and then to the speakers. Hope this helps and have a great time listening to your LPs.
