• These speakers receive power oldstyle, through speaker wires from a receiver or other amp. If your player outputs to a receiver/amp, you're probably golden. If it outputs directly to speakers, better check the player's manual.

• Yes, with some help. The output from the turntable will need some amplification. Most likely a receiver or amplifier with inputs. Then these speakers would connect to the output of the receiver or amp at the speaker out terminals. Some modern turntables might allow speaker connections, but a typical turntable needs amplification.
