“The specifications say this item is 10 inches in height and 5-1/2 inches in width. There is not 10 inches of clearance from the surface of my dash to the windshield. Is the 10 inch dimension actually the length of the base and not the height it reaches?”

• 10 inches is the length. Front to back on your dash. Height with the GPS attached is only about 5 inches.

• The Garmin friction mount is not 10 inches high. It is nearer 5 inches high.
