• Yes, this product requires an external DVD player.

• The H-71CC & H-91CC replacement headrests do not have built in DVD players, and would need an external DVD player or other device to display movies. If you need a replacement headrest with a built in DVD player, look at the HDVD-94(T) or the HDVD-91CC units.
