A:AnswerI have purchased 2 controllers 1 wired one wireless. Both have a special designed notch slot on the cord to properly insert into the controller. This design was meant for one purpose in my opinion, money/costs. If you look at the switch pro controller design or any micro usb phone, tablet or such. Most of the time the charging port are by far easier to use interchangeable cables and are flush with the device and not in a unique modified insert. I have a number of micro usb cables from various devices and for some obvious reason they wont fit any of these controller properly. My advise is fork out $$ on replacement cables (ironically on backorder as of this post) or get the actual Nintendo pro controller with usb c input.
