Handles waves up to 2 ft pretty well. If it rolls over, it's easy to turn upright, even remotely. It's not sinkable unless the hull is broken. I have not used it in salt water, but I assume it would be fine if rinsed off afterwards.

Rinse the Dolphin with fresh water. (IMPORTANT: The battery slot is not waterproof while the battery is taken out. DON'T directly wash it.) 2. Place it in a open space for several hours to completely dry out the Dolphin. 3. Put back to the box/bag. As for the waves, the self-righting flip capability allows PowerDolphin to recover it self if it's upside down. However, in stormy waves, due to the resistance of water, lifting the manual joint may affect its sailing stability. Therefore, we recommend that you use it in quiet waters.
