The Pro Controller doesn't come with some of the obscure freatures that the Joy Cons have, but it does have HD Rumble, an NFC Reader (for Amiibos), and apparently the battery last twice as long as the Joy Cons (the Joy Cons being 20 hours, and the Pro Controller being 40 hours), along with some other features. The Pro Controller is more comfortable and more accurate then the Joy Cons. You can especially see the difference between the controllers when playing a game like Splatoon 2 that has an emphasis on accurate shooting. Overall the Joy Cons are more casual, and the Pro Controller is more hardcore. Another little bonus is the wire that comes with the Pro Controller. The Pro Controller charges uses the same wire that charges the Switch, so you don't have to take part your Switch dock whenever you need a protable charger for your Switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its a more familiar feel than the controller they provide. If someone is an avid gamer on other consoles (ps4/xbox) I recommend it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This controller is more of a traditional console controller. You don’t “need” it, but it is definitely my preferred set up when playing TV mode
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it doesn't do anything "more" than the joy-cons, but its just more comfortable to use, and makes for a better overall experience.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The pro controller is like a traditional controller. If you're used to using a traditional controller then I would recommend getting it. The controllers that come with the switch are really small and may be more difficult to play games with that aren't built for them. The pro controller doesn't really provide much in terms of new features but it's so much more comfortable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It just feels more like a regular controller and has a real d-pad. It's also a little bigger than the Joy Con grip and it's heavier.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some games require two joycons (right and left) in order to play. This just simplifies the process and puts it in a more ergonomical format if you choose to play on your TV as opposed to handheld mode. I would say that it doesn't really add any benefit unless you're going to play a game like Super Smash that will require two and will be more geared towards multiplayer play.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would need an extra controller like this if you want someone to play with you in split screen mode.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Read my review. It's simply more comfortable, and works as a second controller for multiplayer. If you have normal or big hands, get this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This controller is Moreno traditional for example like an Xbox controller it feels a lot like that but the buttons are bigger on this making it good for those intense gaming sessions. Many people have problems with the Joycons so they prefer this controller.
