If you can install a new thermostat controller then you can install this. Just need to connect a few wires.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm a brand new homeowner and replaced my original controller with this one. It is pretty easy to map over the wires. Just read through the instructions and use a bit of logic.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the Rachio is a great replacement for an older controller and is easily installed after removing the existing controller. To replace a controller in your garage or other enclosed area, you just need a drill, level, screw driver, and possibly wire cutters if the ends of the old wires need to be trimmed. A standard household outlet is needed for power. Adequate WiFi signal from you home network is needed at the installation site, but you can check the WiFi signal with your cell phone before installing the Rachio. If the existing controller is outdoors, then you will need an enclosure for the Rachio to protect it from the weather.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You bet! Our controller is incredibly easy to install. - Lo, Rachio Team
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I replaced my existing sprinkler controller with the Rachio 16 zone system about a month ago. The replacement took me about 15 minutes as you just have to disconnect the wires from the existing system, take it off the wall, put the Rachio on the wall, plug the wires back in, and plug it into power. I recommend either labeling the wires or taking a picture of them before removing them from the existing system. It took me longer to get the app setup since I had to figure out how to answer the questions on soil type, type of grass, shade, etc. that it asks for each zone to customize the watering schedule. Overall I have been very happy with it since then and even use the Alexa integration to turn a zone on to encourage my dogs to come in from the back yard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you were able to install the last one you should have no problem. Just basic knowledge of electrical connections, my son installed ours. It is the best thing we’ve ever done. It so nice to use phone or iPad to turn on a zone! Didn’t notice, but there’s probably a video out there to guide you.....
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Definitely yes. This controller can be used as a replacement, and the installation is fairly simple. I personally had a problem with installing the WIFI connection for the first time when I tried to use the Rachio application for Android. Then I just asked for a few minutes of my daughter's iPhone - and completed the setup in seconds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recently purchased one and was able to install it very easily. Two screws hold in place. One wire goes in common port. Look at your existing setup and you’ll mirror the wires. Common goes to common, and one wire per zone into the number slots. One power cable to the wall outlet. The setup is then finished on your phone and yes very easy.
