A recent study showed about 45 percent of plastics in electronics sampled contained lead. Its not going to kill you, but something to be mindful about. Lead makes plastic more pliable, so be careful with the cables especially. But right now there isn't enough information (noone is going to fund the studies) and basically there is no good alternative available.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Keyboard is plastic. The only possible lead will be on the inside that you and/or your kids will never be able to touch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. After reading your question I tried to do some background research. There isn't a lot of information out there. If it were a notable safety issue, it would seem there'd be more traffic on it. Lead poisoning, if I understand it, comes from more direct contact with the substance (for instance if the yes or key paint were lead-based). I'm no expert upon which to base your personal safety, but it doesn't look like there's a ton of information to validate the concern. (Although not meeting China's standard sounds a bit worrisome). If you have doubts, though, I'd recommend a better keyboard like the Logitech G910. Hopefully this isn't an issue waiting to surface with gaming keyboards in general.
