Define "overheat". Its a compact gaming laptop with a 3080 inside. So regardless of how good the cooling is it will get hot enough to make your hand slightly uncomfortable. Now will it overheat crash or damage the computer? No, Razer puts their laptops through rigorous testing to prevent that. If you're worried about heating issues look into a good cooling pad or a laptop stand paired with a monitor which is the setup I run and avoids any heating issues with the lid closed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It gets a little warm while running a game, plugged in, with the backlit lighting on, but it has yet to completely overheat for me. And while using it casually, it takes a while to even get that warm.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.By the mouse pad it gets a little warm but I don’t know about the screen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't say it "overheats" - there doesn't appear to be any degradation in performance, there are no crashing issues, etc. - nothing you would normally equate with a PC overheating. With that said...it does feel incredibly warm in the lower-back portion of it. I suspect it's by design in terms of the engineering...but it's going to feel hot. Don't set it directly on your lap (especially if you're wearing shorts), but otherwise it's been working like a champ for me.
