Are the switches optical purple or red? null

They are Red they feel like purple but less loud

They are optical reds...and dont listen to some of these answers...reds feel nothing like purples lol reds are linear and really loud. They are super sensitive so if ur heavy handed this is not the kb for you. Also the huntsman TE only comes in reds as of now

The one we purchased from the store was red switches. It was the only option there.
