• No there is a ribbon cable that spans between both sides of the controller that runs behind the iPhone.

• You can and can’t meaning depending on the size of the fan and functionality there’s a plastic piece/cover that’ll go over it(as shown in pic on my iPhone 11 Pro) might obstruct the fan and prevent it from working properly..Hopes this helps.
