“How come it doesn't work? A friend bought it a few days ago and he installed it right away but for som reason it doesn't work, we changed to different channels and nothing. I would appreciate if someone can answer this a soon as possible if not it means that he will call to acquire cable.”

Did you go into the menu on your TV and set it to 'antenna' instead of 'cable'? After setting TV to antenna, you have to make the TV do a channel search.
