• A:Answer You can use the Lavalier GO with an iPhone, but be aware you will need two adapters. You will need an Apple Lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter (to give a 3.5mm connection to match the microphone), and you will also need a RØDE SC4 adapter cable to convert the TRS output of the Lavalier GO to the TRRS format of the phone. If using chained adapters like this is unwieldy; there are two other options. The RØDE SmartLAV+ is a high-quality lavalier microphone that has a TRRS output, so although you still need the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, you no longer need the SC4. Or an even better solution in terms of quality and flexibility is the RØDE AI-Micro. This is a versatile interface you can connect to your phone directly that will give you dual microphone inputs for any lavalier, as well as a high-quality headphone output.

• A:Answer The Rode Microphone cord length is over 3.5 feet long. Around 45 1/2 inches to be exact not including microphone and the audio connector as part of the cord. However, if you measure end to end including microphone, cord, and connector it is exactly 4 feet in length. And to avoid confusion, the microphone and connector do not detach from the cable. What does detach is the wind screen and clip.

Q: QuestionDoes this microphone include a on/off switch and is it battery powered like other Lavalier Microphones. The picture in the description doesn't show the cable length. Will this work with the RODE Wireless Go wireless microphone system?

• A:Answer This microphone does not have an On/Off switch. There isn't a way to place batteries inside it. However, this microphone does require power for it to work by receiving power from the device it is connected to. Like all microphones you must know how much power it desires because many powered devices have different volt setting that regulate how many volts you can send in order for it to be powered. Too many volts can easily destroy the microphone. This microphone requires very little power to perform. This microphone requires what is called “Plugin Power” and not necessarily Phantom Power which are two separate things. Phantom Power could be 12V, 24V, or 48V. Either of those voltages would be more than enough to kill this microphone. If you are planning to use an XLR adapter with this microphone you will need to purchase a Rode VXLR + if the device’s microphone input power is 12 Volts or higher! The adapter must be the + version and not the Rode VXLR without the “+”. The VXLR + will help drop down 12 voltage to a lower voltage suitable for this microphone. In a nutshell, look up the device you plan to connect this mic to and see what its microphone input voltage settings are. Without protection, 12 Volts will kill this microphone. This is an awesome microphone but in inexperienced hands you will never make one recording with it if you over power it the first time you plug it in. This is true with all microphones not just this one.

• A:Answer This will work great outdoors! Id it's windy outside, you may put this microphone inside your shirt close to your neck or clip it inside your collar to hide it from the wind. I've tried this microphone in many different settings and overall it performs well outdoors. Here's a few links to videos relative to this microphone. If you have any live questions, you can contact me on Snapchat @ Jonasegway and I could go into further detail if need be. - This video has this Rode lav mic being used with the Rode wireless Go https://youtu.be/dkR4_8QKHJk - This video also transitions between the Rode lav microphone and the Pop Voice lav microphone. Please note the Rode lav microphone is only a tad over 4ft long from the tip of the microphone to the tip of the 3.5mm end and the Pop voice lavalier microphone is like 6.5ft. both microphones sound very good. The Popvoice comes with a red and yellow foam cover for the microphone and a adaptor that allows your microphone to work from a TRRS to a TRS.
