“My GE model gss23gskncss is making mournful beeps every 10-15 seconds. The water is hooked up. We are getting drinking water and ice cubes. It is brand new. Any ideas. Thank you”

Hi Sutton - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE Model GSS23GSKNCSS. We are sorry to hear of the "mournful beeps". Check the door alarm on the control panel. This alarm will sound if either door is open for more than 3 minutes. The light goes out and the beeping stops when you close the door. If the door alarm is off, try resetting the electronics by disconnecting power to the refrigerator for 30 seconds. The compressor may cause a clicking or chirping sound when attempting to restart (this could take up to 5 minutes). The flow of refrigerant through the cooling coils may make a gurgling noise like boiling water.
