You should contact Honeywell & discuss with them. Needs a WiFi signal to alert. Check the specs for operating temp range. You need to have access to the battery compartment to change batteries when necessary. Not sure what you would do to weather-proof it. Read a review on CNet (or similar tech site) & they said it can’t be used after it is submerged in water (such as during a heavy rainstorm maybe). So I have my doubts.
