“Will this charger work for level 1 charging on a Toyota 4xse? Also is the locking assembly that keeps the connector attached to the vehicle socket an incredibly thin cheap piece of plastic designed to fail so you have to replace the entire assembly?”

Hello! As the Toyota 4xse uses the J1772 port, it will work just fine with our charger. As for your other inquiry, we can attest the cable is durable and you should not have any issues like the one you described.
