With the hardwired adapter kit, it will record parking incidents when the engine is turned off.

Please try again later.It will automatically start recording as soon as the power supply is powered on via the cigarette lighter. i.e. in most cars, when the ignition is on - some cars keep power to the cigarette lighter even when the ignition is off. If you're using the hard wire kit then it can be on continuously and I believe is required for recording while parked.
