“when installing a 3rd camera, why cant i have 4k in the front and 1080p on the other 2? it only lets me do 2k on the front and 1080p on the other 2.... this feels like false advertising if this feature isn't adjustable”

Yes, when a third camera is added, the front camera drops in resolution. When used as the dual version, like the version you purchased, it is indeed 4K for the front camera.
