There is a sim card. If you want connected to WiFi you have that option

The WIFI is for whenever you need to quickly download videos from your dashcam to your phone. For the vast majority of cases, you do not need to do anything other than ensuring the red blinking circle is present on the dashcam before driving. If you can see this, then you are good to go!
