Im having the same issue. Ive tried everything to resolve on my xbox. No firmware updates to contend with. Tried every setting and was able to duplicate the issue on multiple controllers. This headset seems to suffer from this. There are some posts on the web about it but not much because not many people buy this headset really vs the other mainstream gamer headset brands.

You might also want to make sure the rubber sleeve is set according to the appropriate game console. If you still have this issues, please test your headset with a different device (mobile phone/tablet) to see if the mic works fine (including the mute function).
