There shouldn't be any issue.. as a matter of fact some idiot decided to put the USB port on the camera to the right side.. and most people are complaining about that because as you said the OBD on most cars is on the left.

Check the location of your car's OBD-II port to see if Ring Car Cam can be safely installed.
