    Asked by G.

  • QuestionI am using my Ring Outdoor CAM Plus powered with the battery it came with. Do I need to remove the battery if I switch the power setting to wired?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. Yes, the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus has the Dual Power Mode feature. Automated Dual Power Mode is turned on by default when a device is wired and has a battery inserted as a power backup. If your device loses hardwired power, or the hardwired power connection is weak or unstable, your Ring device will start reducing energy consumption by automatically switching from Wired Mode to low-power Battery Mode. If there is no battery inserted into your plug-in device and it is experiencing weak or unstable power, it will automatically switch to Low Power Mode and default to using the battery settings as if it were inserted. This ensures that you will continue to have access to all your device’s features. If any additional information is needed regarding your question, please reach out to our community. • QuestionHow far can camera be mounted from WIFI

    Asked by Rg.

    • Answer Hi Rg. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. Ideally, your router should be within 20 feet of your Ring device. Wifi signals get weaker the farther you are from the router, and these objects can make signals even weaker: Walls made of brick, stucco, or metal. Big objects like fridges or ovens. Electronics. Mirrors. If any additional information is needed regarding your question, please reach out to our community.
