No. This comes kind of in 2 parts. One on the outside (camera, doorbell) and the inside (battery and other stuff). You have to remove the existing peephole. Then the 2 parts connect via a tube that goes thru the hole in the door for the peephole. There isn't any damage to the door. You can put the original peephole back when you move. I suppose it could leave marks or paint may fade differently for those parts covered by the ring device and the landlord may charge you cleanup fee when you move out.
