Q: QuestionI have a ring 2.. will this poe provide a hardwired internet connection.. If not, can it be hardwired to the modem/internet
Asked by VicandSue.
- A:Answer No, this is only for PoE Ring devices. The purpose of this device is to create a PoE source from a regular ethernet connection and power source. You would buy this in place of a PoE switch. There is no adapter to make non-PoE Ring devices network hardwired -- those devices simply do not have the necessary inputs.

Q: QuestionHow does this work ? I have a customer who would like to put a ring doorbell at there gate entry, it’s about 600 ft away . Would something like this work ?
Asked by Almal.
- A:Answer Ethernet in general has distance limit of 325’, PoE’s limit is even shorter due to the fact that the longer the wire run the more the voltage on drops from one end of the wire to the other.
