  • QuestionDoes this camera use sd card storage?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. No, Ring cameras do not have an SD card slot or any local storage option built into the device. Ring cameras are designed to use cloud-based storage through a Ring Protect subscription plan, which allows you to save, review, and share video recordings. Your Ring products provide their standard features (real-time notifications, live view, and two-way talk) without any subscription. Asked by SSaleemah.

    • Answer Hi SSvibe. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. Yes, the Ring Quick Release Rechargeable Battery Pack is compatible with the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro. The Battery Doorbell Pro uses a removable Quick Release Battery Pack, which can be easily swapped out by pressing the quick-release tab on the back of the device. Please note that if you have the newer Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd Gen), you will need the Quick Release Ultra Battery Pack instead, as the standard Quick Release Battery Pack is not compatible with the second generation model. • QuestionIf I have a solar panel with my spotlight Camera, do I still need batteries?

    Asked by wpctlc.

    • Answer Hi wpctlc. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. Yes, a battery is still required to power the camera. The Ring Solar Panel provides a trickle charge to the battery in compatible devices to increase time between charges. The device's battery level may vary based on the amount of direct sunlight the solar panel receives. It is important to ensure that your Ring Solar Panel is installed correctly and that it is receiving enough direct sunlight to operate as intended. For best performance, Ring recommends at least two to three hours of direct sunlight for the Ring Solar Panel. With the recommended amount of direct sunlight, the device will remain continuously charged under most conditions.
